In my opinion a sentence like "thank you" does not add anything to the question, as also introductions (like "I'm a newbie" additions) do not add valuable information. I tend to remove "Thank you" from anywhere, but I do edit a lot, and I have Edit Questions And Answers privileges (>2000 rep), so then you don't need approvals from reviewers. I think it ...

Consider it handled. I warned user to stop, and I/we will suspend if it continues. Thanks for reporting.

Good question, I was going to ask something along these lines as well. So I can't give you a definite answer, but my opinion: I consider searching for common spelling errors to edit them bad behavior to game the reputation system, as it does not improve the content remarkably: If there is nothing else to improve in a post, it's not worth an edit. If the ...

I think you are talking about me. I'm certainly not doing it for the reputation. I don't get any rep from editing posts anymore. I just wanted to clean up this website a bit. I've been doing this for a while (not just editing, but answering, voting, closing, re-tagging). My reasons? See this: The quality of MageOverflow. I'm looking through old ...

I'd even consider these edits harmful. They are using quotes to highlight random paragraphs which are not remotely quotes. What to do in such a case? Flag one of the answers/questions for moderator attention and mention that this particular user is vandalizing in their edits. You don't need to include a whole list of edits, the moderators can see the edit ...

I just corrected the spellings only for the words DESIGN and CHANGE. "only", that's the point. There are so many grammatical errors in the post that fixing two small typos is not really an improvement. Personally I would be on the fence about accepting or rejecting this edit. But keep in mind that your suggestions have to be reviewed by at least three ...

I leave "Thanks" lines in questions, but I've no problem if it is removed along with other edit (fixed tags or other stuff), but it makes no sense to edit questions just to remove this. Actually "Teja Bhagavan Kollepara" makes a lot of such and it brings up old questions w/o any further improvements :( Can a moderator please ask him to stop this? From ...

You have mentioned two different scenario Keep Thanks as a editor Reviewer of edit In first scenario you keep "Thank you" It's ok For me as well site (I think) In the second scenario if editor has made some more good edit then accept those edits. And if editor removes only thank you from question or post, then reject those edit mark as no improvement ...

First of all, is this the right place to post these kind of qsts? Yes. What you can do is flag one of these questions for moderator attention and explain the issue in the "other" text field. The mods have the possibility to take action and should decide if there is need to. There's nothing more you as a user can do, except raising the issue here, as you did,...

I think it's the reviewer's responsibility to not let these kind of useless (although correct) minor changes be published and would also prevent necroposting.

I would have rejected it too, as I did it in the past with many of your suggestions IIRC. Thanks for bringing this up here, so I can address the issue directly: There are edit suggestions that do not make the post worse but also are not really worth it. Keep in mind that at least three other users have to review your suggestions, don't waste their time for ...

Its good that you have reported this. Stackexchange has a number of self correction mechanisms to prevent such behaviour. It seems we found a weakness here. Probably after flagging the post for Moderator attention, he will fast see they try to game the system and is able to handle this. In this case the moderators should think about escalating the issue ...

We rolled out a honeypot system for this, however, it was still on the default threshold and configuration settings for Magento. I tweaked these numbers quite a bit based on your actual volume, and it should begin to quiet down noticeably in a short amount of time. I'm sorry about that, I thought for certain that I had visited and adjusted all of the sites ...

I guess this is because up to a point of reputation you get reputation for edits. So adding this check should limit people from spam editing to simply to get the reputation. It should help make sure that edits are actually required.

adding new Tags can be a big help for others, who only use tags to finde Questions to answer. In My Example, I mainly observe questions with the Tags Composer and phpunit, if the questions dont have the tag, I will not find them, so its a good thing to have some people wo regularly go trough older questions and add this tags, so other more specialized ...

5 hours and 120 rep wow good speedy work. actually problem is that we only see the edit not who is editing this and off-course reviewer have no time for that too in my opinion . I think this blog post will answer your question. https://meta.stackoverflow.com/questions/253084/is-there-no-limit-to-edits-you-can-make-in-a-day-rep-farming This user had 60 edit ...

And earning from edit only also not good Because from editing you are not providing new things to community. I agree with everything except above line in this thread. I believe he still contributes to the community as he can. It is obvious that the content become more readable. What we need to understand here is, he/she is spending his own time to review ...

I've answered a similar question a while ago on Ask Ubuntu Meta. Although the question was worded differently, I think it is still valid here. Basically, other than the daily cap of 200 rep, you cannot get more than 1k reputation from suggested edits. So if a user is only editing posts without asking or answering question, they will no be able to pass 1001 ...

i think formating is necessary for question and answer. if the question or answer is formated then it is easy to read and understand so i always approve this kind editing.

The best (and only) thing to do is to post here in Meta for us to review. I have reopened and added a comment to the answer to signify that it is due to the version you are running.

Having started to become more active on Magento StackExchange from being a regular contributor at Stackoverflow I can say for a fact that the quality of the content on this site is terrible. I often see posts that have not been proof read, have terrible English or are riddled with grammatical errors, or are covered with seemingly random formatting (bold and ...

There is nothing wrong with someone submitting a tag edit. I would suggest you approach the particular user in SE chat and ask them what their rationale is. IIRC you have the ability to reject the change on a question that you personally asked, so go ahead and reject if you feel it was an unnecessary addition.

I rolled back quite a few of these edits when I encountered them or if there were other useful changes, reverted the incorrect backtick usage. I have to admit that I use the inline code style not only for real code but sometimes for things like file names or menu paths like System > Configuration > Catalog. But really shouldn't be used for emphasizing. ...

If a question is on hold, editing it would be of big value for us. Only a few moderators are taking the time to edit them. Most times the question is on hold, because the moderators saw no way to improve it. So yes, please edit the question, even if it is a very old one.

I can see the + and the - items in your rep page. See the top and bottom entries. . But it seems to me that there is something wrong with your rep calculation. I ran this very ugly but effective js script in the console while viewing your reputation page: var total = 0;var elements = jQuery('.rep-cell .rep-up');for (var i = 0 ; i<elements.length;i++)...

I am the one who approve this edit, But in past I have rejected many edits done by you , because your edit may conflict with authors intent. You are editing post basis on authors comments I personally think its not good, because its depend on authors to add that comment in their post or not. and for edit review I always read editors comments, so I get ...
