What is your position on questions related to third-party modules? A simple "I'm for/against them" will not suffice. Please list the reasons. If it can be reproduced without actually having the module (so enough code was posted etc) or if it's a popular free module with a high chance of answering I'm more than ok with it. If it's some obscure paid module ...

This has been a long time coming. Thanks for making such an amazing place for us to hang out. Magento brand team is eager to get involved. In the past I believe that eBay Enterprise's creative team has said they'd help. Hip-hip-hooray!

I'm Marius and these are my answers to the moderator questionnaire. What is your opinion of the role of the Magento StackExchange in relation to third-party extensions--both free and commercial? I don't think there is a black or white solution here. Not even a grey one. There are a few types of third party modules related questions that can be ...

One thing is clear. You cannot force people to accept answers if they don't want to. But you can encourage them (but avoid nagging) by leaving a comment under the question or under the answer that should be accepted telling the OP to mark the answer as accepted. That't the best you can do about it.

Firstly thank you for you post. This is something that is really highlighted by looking at the voting stats on the site on a user level. My thinking is that people see this site as a competition and not a community effort. I can help you on how to start to change this and it starts with individuals like yourself (and like everyone other user on this site). ...

Miguel Balparda What is your position on questions related to third party modules? A simple "I'm for/against them" will not sufice. Please list the reasons. As long as it's something you can reproduce, I'll allow it. If it's OSS, GitHub is preferred but since this is something that can be used in favor of a greater audience it might work How ...

You are somehow right. This website seams to not have a big voting culture yet. But I want to challenge you think a question qualifies for a nice answer from you, that the question therefor is good and needs an upvote. I answered a lot of crappy questions for which the OP could have found an answer with a simple search over the web (I think there is a ...

1.What is your position on questions related to third party modules? A simple "I'm for/against them" will not suffice. Please list the reasons. Mostly I am against them, but if the op add the relevant code and if I am familiar with extension , I will answer happily. It is better to answer than to close it. But rules say third party are not recommended. ...

Because people don't take care of the website just for badges and fake internet points. They actually care.

I'm going to chime in here, even though I have only just come to this community as a newb. However, I do have a fair amount of experience on the stackexchange network, particularly in beta sites (both ones that eventually graduated, and ones that have languished in beta for years). One aspect of site graduation that is sometimes overlooked is having a user-...

Here are my 0.02$. Voting I see there is a (more or less) general trend to hardly vote on this website. And this is a bad thing .. This reflects in the badges section: Question badges Answer badges Far less than what I expected after one year of life. People should be encouraged to vote but.... Begging for upvotes should be prohibited because we can ...

Actually those are not examples of Stack Exchange selling data, they are "scrapers" that are simply pulling the data off Stack Exchange sites and reproducing the content in an attempt to drive traffic to their site. You can see at the bottom of the page contributions you make are licensed under "cc by-sa 3.0 with attribution", so under some circumstances it'...

sv3n What is your position on questions related to third party modules? A simple "I'm for/against them" will not sufice. Please list the reasons.
